Historical background and achievements

The School was a public-private partnership, established in 1974, between the Private Landowners (The Lovemore Family) and the department of Bantu Education.

The school was known as Heatherbank Farm School and was open to learners from Grades 1-7.

The school was closed by the Department of Education in 2012, due to low numbers and poor infrastructure and support.

In 2013 the Heatherbank Pre-School was opened with 33 learners, ages 4-5 years.

In 2014 The Heatherbank Primary School was opened as an Independent school with its first Grade 1 class.

The school offers English Home Language, with IsiXhosa as a First Additional Language subject and other selected CAPS subjects.

The preschool site currently has 6 Educators. With 80 pupils in classes 00 to Grade R.

The Primary School site currently has 8 Educators with 162 pupils from Grades 1-7.

We plan to add our first bridging class to our primary school in 2025.

We are registered with the DOE and received our Umalusi accreditation in 2022.
